The 4th Annual Advance Steel Academy 2017 in US is a Success!

Thank you to everyone who made our Annual Advance Steel Academy a success! We are already planning ahead for next year’s event in Baltimore!

The 4th Annual Advance Steel Academy 2017 in US is a Success!

GRAITEC, Autodesk® Platinum Partner, hosted its fourth edition of Advance Steel Academy, an advanced training focused on Autodesk® Advance Steel. This event took place in San Antonio on March 20-22, just before the NASCC, and we welcomed 50 Advance Steel users (this number has doubled from last year!). “The objective of the Advance Steel Academy is for all attendees to develop their Advance Steel skills, learn about trends within the building and construction industry and network with other industry professionals.” Hugo Michaud, Sales Director Americas, Graitec Group.

The first day was met with a buzz of excitement at the historical Menger Hotel as we anxiously awaited our guests’ arrival.

This was my first Advance Steel Academy to attend, and I will continue attending in the future. I learned new tips, tricks and technics on most all seminars. Networking and socializing with fellow Advance Steel users and the tech team proved to be quite beneficial as well. I recommend it to all Advance Steel users!” Lewis Moreland, Owner, EZDrawLLC

The GRAITEC team welcomed Autodesk Advance Steel users with different backgrounds. Steel and Precast Detailers, Steel Erectors, Steel & Precast Fabricators, Structural Engineers, Contractors, etc. gathered for in-depth workshops, technical sessions and networking.

For the third consecutive year, we were joined by Autodesk partners. Michael Gustafson, Industry Strategy Manager for Structural Engineering at Autodesk, talked about Autodesk’s vision for the Future of Structure & BIM. He adds: “Graitec’s Advance Steel Academy event was a big success. I’ve attended this event for three years now, and it has steadily attracted more customers each year. It was a great week having the opportunity to meet with Advance Steel customers at Graitec’s event as well as at NASCC.

The 4th Annual Advance Steel Academy 2017 in US is a Success!

Udo Haedicke, Advance Steel Product Manager, gave an exclusive preview of the new 2018 features. He comments: “What a nice event. Thank you for getting the chance to promote the new features of Advance Steel and the opportunity to chat with so many great customers!

This was my second Advance Steel Academy and it was great. The perfect opportunity to discuss problems, learn new tricks, exchange ideas and share solutions with the Advance Steel experts as well as other users.” Matt Steiger, Detailer/CAD Manager, Mountainview Steel Detailing

GRAITEC delivered new tools and solutions for BIM and steel fabrication during NASCC 2016

GRAITEC, international BIM and CAD software developer for AEC and Autodesk® Platinum Partner in US and across Europe, delivered new tools and solutions for BIM and steel fabrication during the NASCC Steel Conference in Orlando, FL on April 13-15 2016.

GRAITEC delivered new tools and solutions for BIM and steel fabrication during NASCC 2016

The NASCC Steel Conference is an annual event put on by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). It’s designed as a forum for engineers, fabricators and detailers to learn about structural steel design and construction. On April 13, GRAITEC experts showcased five new and enhanced products focused on BIM and fabrication: two productivity extensions for Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Advance Steel; a new release of the structural analysis solution, Advance Design; a new Steel Fabrication Management Information System (MIS) called Advance Workshop and Autodesk® Advance Steel 2017, 3D BIM software for steel modeling and detailing.

At their booth, GRAITEC experts gave live demonstrations of the 3D modeling software for steel detailing based on AutoCAD®. Advance Steel is a leading edge steel construction application designed for steel professionals. Its model based environment allows to produce accurate detailed general arrangement and shop drawings faster, helping to speed time to erection and fabrication. The various improvements, new features and Autodesk Revit and GRAITEC solutions’ interoperability help overcome challenges thanks to a better BIM workflow.

GRAITEC’s powerful add-on introduces a wealth of localised manufacturer profiles and more predefined default settings. New tools are developed to easily define spirals, helices using different combinations between start, centre and end point and radius or angle. This extension also introduces cloud connectivity and integrates bi-directional links with Advance Workshop, GRAITEC’s newly launched Steel Fabrication MIS solution, enabling Advance Steel users to retrieve and graphically display colour-coded production statuses in their models.

GRAITEC’s versatile, well-rounded fabrication management solution (MIS) is perfect for optimising, controlling and managing every aspect of the process with high levels of accuracy and quality. It is similar to an enterprise resource management (ERM) system, although Advance Workshop links directly to Autodesk Advance Steel. It allows the system to access and use 3D data from the detailing software. This helps increase production and lower costs.

Vernet Behringer choose Advance Workshop to promote their new range of CNC Machines for SME Fabricators

Vernet Behringer are holding open tech-days at their Dijon offices on 26th and 27th November to showcase their new HD-S compact marking-drilling and milling machine specifically targeted at lighter jobs by small to medium steel fabricators.

Vernet Behringer choose Advance Workshop to promote their new range of CNC Machines for SME Fabricators

The compact size of the HD-S alone makes this machine an attractive proposition for any SME steel fabricator looking to progress their business and take advantage of more automated processes. But the real power of the HD-S comes with its versatility. With a capacity of 400×300 mm and capable of milling, marking, drilling and scribing of H-beams, channels, flats, angles and hollow sections the HD-S delivers real value in all areas.

It was this versatility that Vernet Behringer’s Export Sales Manager Yannick BEAUCHAMP wanted to demonstrate when he invited GRAITEC along, with its steel fabrication management software – Advance Workshop, to connect with the HD-S machine and put it through its paces.

Mr Beachamp stated:Our Tech-days enable us to meet with interested parties from all over the world and show case our machines. The new HD-S is designed for smaller steel fabricators and we wanted to highlight its full range of possibilities; to show how such a compact machine could deliver high performance in a real-world scenario. We choose to invite GRAITEC, a leader in the structural market, to use Advance Workshop software to drive the HD-S so that visitors could explore its full range of capabilities in a live working environment.

With other machines on display including the FG Evo for drilling, milling, marking and deburring plates and gussets, the new RD-X plasma cutting robot arm and the HD-X Evo multispindle drilling-milling machine, Vernet Behringer open days are very well supported and more dates are planned next year to meet demand.

GRAITEC staff will be on hand to discuss Advance Workshop during the event.
