Synchronization of structural model from Autodesk Advance Steel to Advance Design America

GRAITEC technology ensures a more connected BIM workflow and helps bridge the gap between analysis, design and fabrication.

This video shows how to synchronize a structural model from Advance Steel, Autodesk ‘s structural steel detailing software (based on AutoCAD platform) to Advance Design America, Graitec’s structural analysis and design software.

Using the GTCX file format, the user can transfer the model from Autodesk Advance Steel to Advance Design America and perform the analysis and design procedure. It is also possible to modify the geometry or sections to optimize the structure.

Then the model in Advance Design America can be easily sent back to Autodesk Advance Steel including all the internal forces coming from the load combinations. The user will be able to design or verify the connection design and detailing based on the forces coming directly from analysis and design software.
